The Reality of it All

Tie dyes aren't the only things I create. I also create extraordinary messes! Ha! The reality of tie dye is that dye gets everywhere, dishes stack up quicker than the kitchen sink, organization gets lost in the process of creating, and cleanup is a full-time job all by itself! Time after time I spend hours mixing dye, preparing chemicals, tying garments, and laying dye and as I stand back to admire my hard work, the mess calls to me, "huh-hmm, you're not done miss Amy!" I've never been a fan of doing dishes (let's face it, who is?!), but I have grown accustomed to washing all the things all the time to prepare for the next dye sesh! It's all part of the process and I embrace each and every part of it in order to continue pursuing this passion. Of course, admirers of tie dye rarely get to see this part, the part that keeps me up sometimes well past 3am in the morning... Such a beautiful disaster, remnants of a job well done after an evening of creating beautiful things. Well worth it if you ask this girl!
