So, you've seen a tie dye that you like and you have placed a custom order for the design. It is important to know that rarely ever are two tie dyes exactly the same. Fabric is so soft and pliable that even the exact same fold will yield slightly different results. Dye can behave differently too. A little more or a little less dye on two different shirts can affect the overall outcome. As tie dye artists, it is our goal to create a piece as similar to what is requested as possible, but to create two identical pieces would be a rarity indeed. On some occasions, two shirts can be folded on top of one another to try to mimic the exact design of one another, but even then some areas of the shirt may be more saturated or less saturated than the other. So while the fold is more or less the same, there may be slight differences in how the color spreads. One of the best things about tie dye is the unique quality of no two shirts being exactly the same. When you want perfectly matched shirts, you might look to a major department store. But when you are looking for a one-of-a-kind piece of colorful wearable art, tie dye doesn't disappoint!
