Hooked on a Feeling

Most of the time tie dyeing requires some in-depth planning, measurements, and attention to detail. Sometimes, however, you can't help but just create what you are feeling! I cherish having creative freedom over a blank canvas! The ability to just throw on some Floyd or some Bowie or some dubstep or whatever soothes your soul, and then to step back and look at that glaring white shirt and have a vision of what it wants to be based on the mood in the room at the time- PRICELESS. There is this unspoken, indescribable flow that happens THROUGH you, the artist, and paints itself onto your canvas. It's as if you are just ONE with everything in that moment. Some of my coolest pieces have happened that way. Some of my best meditations have happened poised over a shirt in progress, Floyd blasting on the stereo, my body swaying back and forth in perfect harmony with... just everything. How could you not look at that piece of art and just smile remembering how perfect everything was in that moment? It's rather fascinating how customers can pick up on that vibe because you poured it into that garment- body, mind, and soul. Such an amazing experience from creation to sale.
